A map of the autonomous marketing organization
People on LinkedIn talk about a fully autonomous marketing team. I wanted to see what that would look like process by process: which jobs need a script, which need an AI workflow, which need an agent, and where a person stays in the loop. Depending on the organization, you might want marketing fully autonomous or a hybrid of people and machines.
The map
Every marketing process, and who runs it
Switch between the two models. The build type for each process stays the same. What changes is how much a person decides.
- Agent runs it
- Agent proposes, a person approves
- A person leads, AI helps
Even when it's autonomous
What I'd keep a person on
A fully autonomous team still has owners. These are the places where I'd want a person to decide, or at least approve, no matter how good the agents get.
What the company stands for
Agents can test messages against what buyers ask. Positioning and pricing are business decisions, and someone has to own them.Spending money
An agent can move ad budget inside a limit you set. Setting the limit is a person's job.Changing the agents
An agent can propose a better prompt, tool or piece of code. Every change gets reviewed and tested before it ships, or the loop spreads its own mistakes.Customers at risk
An agent can spot a quiet account or an open ticket. Deciding what to say to an unhappy customer is still worth a person's time.
How to get there
Start with one process
Nobody switches on a whole autonomous team at once. I'd pick one process from the map, decide whether it really needs an agent, let the agent watch and recommend, then give it more room only when the results back it up.
Script, workflow or agent?
The simplest option that does the job is usually the right one.
Read Script vs. Agent →Build it yourself
The five-part series covers the method, from the job description to where the agent runs.

Learn the method, get a framework, or have us build the agents. Or all three.
